The lodge-style great room with its Texas and native art, vaulted ceilings, and farm plank floors, invites guests to relax with a good book or board game or start a leisurely jigsaw puzzle. This special room is located on our main floor or middle floor of three.


Guests wake up each morning to the smell of freshly brewed specialty coffee offered at 7:30 AM. A two-course breakfast is served at 8:30 AM in the spacious, light-filled Great Dining Room or on the deck overlooking our gardens, yard, and forest beyond.


During walks through the meadows and woods or around our lake, guests may find plums, wild blackberries, wildflowers galore in season, as well as song birds and water foul they didn’t know made their homes in Texas.


Mid-afternoon we offer freshly home-baked cookies in the Great Room to revive the returning shopper, hiker, book reader, and/or resting guests. It is hard to beat a just baked, still warm oatmeal raisin or chocolate chip cookie!


A half-bath is located on the hall near the Great Kitchen and the Great Room.
